Tiana always knew that she wanted to be a nurse. After graduating high school in 1994, Tiana became a C.N.A. (Certified Nurse's Assistant) for 6 years. While she says she found the work gratifying, she felt she wanted to learn more about physiology and biology and the human body. So she decided to go to City College and was accepted after completing all the requisite courses in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and nutrition.
By the end of 1999, she graduated from the nursing program at the top of her class and was the Valedictorian. Her first job out of nursing school was for the City and County of San Francisco at the Laguna Honda Hospital where she stayed and worked for 9 years and where she gained the bulk of her current experience in senior and acute care.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Tiana sees herself as a lifetime learner and is currently enrolled in a bridge program between the LVN and the RN program. With a B.S. in Nursing, Tiana looks forward to getting her R.N. degree so that she can continue helping people but with a substantially increased knowledge base. Way to go, Tiana!!
