Home care services and senior assisted living facilities have the same services for their clients. The basic services include meal preparations, personal care assistance such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting. Transportation, housekeeping, and laundry will also be provided. In some cases, they also provide medication monitoring as well as assistance for convalescing older adults. Both home care services and assisted living are perfect for elders who do not need 24-hour medical care.
The major difference however, is that in home care services allow the elderly stay at home in a familiar setting where they are comfortable with their family and surroundings. Hiring home care services is especially useful for the elderly who do not want to live away from their loved ones. Older people who want to live independently in their own homes may prefer this option as well. On the other hand, senior assisted living facilities are suitable for the elderly who want to live with other seniors in a communal setting.
